Nursery Unit  September  2017  Pili was keen to be with little Tamiyoi too and was climbing the walls to try and cross into Tamiyoi’s room. Nursery Unit  August  2017  The air was relaxed and calm as they were all so busy browsing. However, the situation suddenly changed when two fighting male impalas sprinted through the orphan herd sending them all scattering in fright in different directions. All the older orphans were shaken up and started stomping, bush bashing, charging and trumpeting whilst the smallest ones, Musiara, Sattao, Maktao, Jotto, and Enkesha were very frightened and started yelling as they ran everywhere looking for their keepers. (read more...) view

Nursery Unit  April  2017  This entrance managed to scare all of the young orphans that were already around the mud wallow. Nursery Unit  April  2017  All three of these babies are becoming quite greedy characters these days for their milk, and this is why they try to sneak away from the others and back to the stockades, to see if they might be able to find any more milk. It is funny that Mundusi is always the leader of the three and yet he is the newest arrival!

Nursery Unit  February  2017  The reaction of the orphans got Maxwell even more excited and he charged around his stockade and knocking his horn hard against the wooden posts of his stockade. He spent a little whilst doing this and then settled down in his mud pool where he spent time enjoying a mud bath!  
 
The orphans enjoyed their mud bath too during public visiting today; Jotto and Ambo playfully ran out of the mud bath and started a pushing game before Jotto ran off to scratch himself along the rope cordon and enjoyed bumping into school pupils who had come to see the orphans that day as well. (read more...)

Nursery Unit  August  2016  Her first ever appearance at the public visit went very well. After finishing her milk bottle she decided to join the others in the mud bath where she had a great time, before finishing up with a dust bath. By the time it came for her to leave to make way for the older group to have their milk, she didn’t want to go!  
 
During the visit, Ngilai, who has been naughty and bullying the little boy Jotto recently, behaved very badly. (read more...)

Nursery Unit  August  2016  In the first group it was Esampu who led the others into the mud bath, and later in the older group it was Maramoja.  
 
As we know, all the elephants have their own individual characters. Tagwa is a little girl that likes to complain a lot! The other orphans know that and some enjoy teasing her because of it, even the very little ones like Tamiyoi, Jotto and Ambo. (read more...)

Little Jotto together with Murit and Tagwa as well enjoyed the mud bath slightly to the side and assisted by their keepers, as they were slightly weary of the boisterous behaviour going on. (read more...) view
