Nursery Unit  May  2018  As soon as the orphans were let out of their stockades this morning to go into the forest, it was funny to watch the likes of Mbegu, Godoma, Ngilai, Murit, Sana Sana, and mainly Ndotto, all crazy coming out of their rooms and running into some of the stables of the little ones like Sattao, Emoli, Musiara, Maisha and Luggard to inspect and check that they had finished all their pellets; usually the younger ones don’t manage to finish theirs. (read more...) view

The herd reached an open area in the forest just as the sun rose and started to warm their backs. Nursery Unit  October  2017  Having spent almost a month in his taming pen, he seems ready to join the others and is more trusting of the keepers. He seemed very quiet and calm walking out into the forest with the others and this gentle nature towards the other young and older ones meant he was well received by Mbegu, Kauro, Ndotto, Lasayen, Maramoja and the little ones too like Musiara, Ambo, Sattao, Jotto, Tamiyoi and Malima; they were all milling around him and enjoyed toughing him. (read more...) view

Nursery Unit  August  2017  The air was relaxed and calm as they were all so busy browsing. However, the situation suddenly changed when two fighting male impalas sprinted through the orphan herd sending them all scattering in fright in different directions. All the older orphans were shaken up and started stomping, bush bashing, charging and trumpeting whilst the smallest ones, Musiara, Sattao, Maktao, Jotto, and Enkesha were very frightened and started yelling as they ran everywhere looking for their keepers. (read more...) view
