Most of the babies will fight to be the first ones to be taken home, no matter if they are young babies or the older orphans! Nursery Unit  April  2015  The two were in the truck and on their way by 4am. Soon after their departure Lemoyian Sokotei and Sirimon, who had witnessed their friends leave the stockades, started to cause a bit of a fuss and had to be consoled by the keepers. (read more...) view
Nursery Unit  April  2015  When Lemoyian had enough he set off to browse which disappointed Kithaka who was not ready to stop and charged after him ears spread, knocking all the small bushes aside, in an effort to get Lemoyian to continue their game. Tundani decided to have a quick dust bath and lay down to roll in the dust whereby Nelion and Barsilinga started to mount him which he did not seem to mind, Sokotei, Enkikwe and Roi were all busy running around with their ears raised and trumpeting while charging through the bushes. (read more...) view

Nursery Unit  December  2014  Kithaka, our naughty boy, started assembling the other elephants for a bit of mischief, having his eye on one particular prize, the parking lot. This is his usual place for mischief-making, namely chasing and playing with the drivers who stay there! However he knew, being such a trickster, that it was likely that he would be caught so he led Lentili, Arruba, Ashaka, Kauro and Sokotei into the parking lot to distract the keepers whilst he had his fun. (read more...) view

All the commotion of the morning left the entire elephant herd rather unsettled, and Enkikwe, Olsekki, Sokotei, Embu and little Dupotto separated themselves to be at peace. (read more...)

Nursery Unit  September  2014  Embu is very warm and welcoming and always seems to be re assuring her adopted baby Dupotto and now new little Enkikwe. Sokotei and Lemoyian are back to their naughty mischievous ways and are constantly bulling poor little Enkikwe, but this is very common for young bulls to try and teach any new comer that they are the boss. (read more...) view

Nursery Unit  July  2014  Sweet Ngasha is no longer sweet when it comes to feeding time! He runs full pelt to his bottle and after finishing his own he becomes such a nuisance to all the keepers and elephants as he just wants everyone else’s milk too! 
Today during the babies feeding time, Ngasha downed his milk and after finishing he pushed little Sokotei to the ground, proceeded to head butt him and then tried to drink his milk. (read more...)
