Ithumba Unit  October   17, 2017 Olare and her group in the company of the wild orphan joined the juniors for lucerne in the morning. Galla briefly settled into a scratching exercise as he waited for lucerne. Shortly later, Yatta and her group showed up and joined the juniors to feed on lucerne. Chemi Chemi and Ololoo engaged each other in a strength testing exercise that ended in a draw. After finishing the lucerne, the orphans headed straight out where they settled to browse without any major observation.

At mud bath time, only Boromoko decided to go into the water. The rest drank their milk and then some water before heading back to the browsing field. In the evening, the sun was still hot and the orphans headed to the mud bath where they joined five wild bulls that had arrived earlier to wallow. After enjoying the evening cool-off exercise, the orphans settled for a soil dusting exercise and after, Ukame led the first group back to the stockade for the night.
