Ithumba Unit  July   5, 2017 No wild or Ex Orphan elephants visited this morning. The orphans ate lucerne then headed towards the browsing field. The sky was clear which indicated a very hot day ahead. They all browsed quietly in the Kanziku area, Kamok teaming up with Ukame and Wanjala and Galla accompanying Boromoko to browse.

Around ten o’clock in the morning the orphans were joined by Rapsu who then escorted them to the mud bath. Shukuru, Olsekki, Siangiki, Ukame, Boromoko, Barsilinga, Sirimon, Kithaka and Garzi all followed him into the water. Barsilinga and Garzi had a lot of fun pushing each other in the water and so did Olsekki. Rapsu and Kamok settled for soil dusting and after playing in the water the rest of the orphans joined them.

In the afternoon the orphans began browsing in the upper Kalovoto area before heading back to the stockades in the evening, led by Roi
