Ithumba Unit  July   14, 2017 Olare, Mutara, Makireti, Chaimu and Narok spent the night just outside the stockade the evening before, and they were also in the company of Tomboi. The orphans were all aware of the Ex Orphans’ presence as well as their wild friends and soon after getting their early morning milk feed, they joined them, but not before grabbing mouthfuls of lucerne. As she walked away with her Lucerne, Tumaren was being particularly protective, not wanting any of the others to try and steal some of her own stash. Having joined the others Kitirua began playing with Kanjoro and later engaged Barsilinga in a pushing game. On the way to the browsing field Kanjoro then tackled Garzi but their game ended prematurely when Tumaren intervened by pushing the two boys away, which upset Garzi a lot and he confronted Tumaren. By mid-morning the junior Ex Orphans parted ways with the orphans but secretly they hijacked Siangiki without the keeper’s knowledge. It wasn’t until later that day that the keepers found Siangiki with the Ex Orphans, who were being very protective and making sure that Siangiki was back for the evening milk feed.
