THE DE-SNARING PROJECT: SIMBA TEAM ZIWANI

Area of Operation:
The Ziwani team is based on the Tsavo River, covering Tsavo West National Park, concentrating on the Southern end of the park towards the Tanzanian border, and the community lands between Tsavo East and West National Parks.
Team Description:
This Unit's five man team are all trained through the KWS Manyani Ranger Training Academy and are accompanied by armed Kenya Wildlife Service Rangers while on patrol. The team leader for this unit is Joseph Macharia. The team members are Ali Omar,Harun Baite, Samuel Ndegwa, and Peterson Kivara. The team is funded by the Eden Trust.
