David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust mobile app available on iPhone and Android

We are excited to announce that we now have mobile apps available for iPhone and Android!  Our latest app, on Android, was released on 17th November and like its iPhone equivalent, it gives users the ability to read about the orphaned baby elephants available to foster at our Nairobi Nursery and not just that, to foster them too

We are excited to announce that we now have mobile apps available for iPhone and Android!  Our latest app, on Android, was released on 17th November and like its iPhone equivalent, it gives users the ability to read about the orphaned baby elephants available to foster at our Nairobi Nursery and not just that, to foster them too.

The apps provide some of the latest news from the field, along with some extra features such as a unique elephant ringtone and photo gallery.  The ringtone, which can be easily set to your phone, was actually taken from a recording made when three of our Nairobi orphans were moved to Ithumba earlier this year - so it is the sound of the Ithumba orphans greeting the new arrivals, which makes it very special.

Best of all, both our apps are now free to download.  So if you have an iPhone or Android device, please visit the iPhone App Store or Android Marketplace and search for 'David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust' to find and install the relevant app on your device.  You'll then be able to keep up with all the latest news, read about the latest orphan rescues and grab the attention of your friends when you receive a call and elephants start trumpeting from your phone!

If you have an iPhone you can download the DSWT's app free from the iTunes app store on your handset! http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/david-sheldrick-wildlife-trust/id377177878?mt=8

If you have a mobile phone that runs Google's Android operating system (such as the Nexus One or HTC Desire) you can download the DSWT's app free from the Android Market on your handset http://www.android.com/market

We would like to say a special thank you to Brian Hunter of 48hrsin, and Richard Hyndman of Mippin, for their development skills and time in creating the iPhone and Android apps respectively for us, without charge.
