Watch BBC One Nature’s Miracle Babies on iPlayer As part of the Nature’s Miracle Babies series currently being broadcast on BBC 1 in the United Kingdom, presenter Martin Hughes-Games  visited the DSWT’s elephant orphanage in Nairobi, as well as the reintegration centre in Ithumba, Tsavo East.  Martin’s time at the orphanage was aired in episode 2 of the series on Sunday 11th September. If you missed it, you can watch it now on BBC iPlayer (UK ONLY) http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b014jbqq/Natures_Miracle_Babies_Episode_2/ The feature about our efforts to rescue and hand-rear orphaned elephants so that they can return to the wild begins 33 minutes and 34 seconds into the programme. This episode of Nature’s Miracle Babies introduces the orphans’ project and some of its key people, including Dame Daphne Sheldrick, Head Keeper Edwin Lusichi and of course many of the elephants, such as Suguta and Mutara.  It is a wonderful introduction to our elephant orphans project and we hope it helps many people better understand elephants, and the threats facing their survival.
