Having commenced operations within the Southern Conservation Area at the beginning of May, the new Amboseli Mobile Veterinary Unit headed by KWS veterinary officer Dr Njoroge, treated 5 cases during the month whilst taking part in a sensitisation program to ensure that all KWS personnel and tourism and wildlife stakeholders within the greater Amboseli ecosystem are now aware the unit is in operation and can be called out to answer any wildlife emergencies.

Dr Njoroge and his team answered reports concerning three injured elephants, two of which needed follow up treatments, as well as a post mortem examination of an old elephant and a giraffe.
