Drama against the rising flood waters of the Galana River - 11/20/2014
View a Printable Version of this Update

In Tsavo today, 20th November, as the Galana river flooded DSWT pilot Humphrey Carter watched drama unfold when he spotted from the air.  He'd spotted an elephant trying to cross the river just as the flood waters began to rise, catching him vulnerable and only half way across the body of water.  As the elephants struggled to keep control he made the decision to turn back against the raging torrent, as the flood waters continued to come down in spate and managed to swim back to shore the way he came.  Thankfully all ended well as Humphrey circled above hoping and praying the drama that was unfolding below him would have a happy ending.  Fortunately it did.
