On Friday 27th February, we were delighted to welcome over 450 people to the Royal Geographical Society in London to launch our compelling film ‘Gardeners of Eden’.

Following our field teams in Kenya, ‘Gardeners of Eden’ opens the world’s eyes to the reality of the ivory poaching crisis on the front lines and the devastating effects it’s having on elephants. The film offers a true portrayal of the often high risk, lifesaving work of the DSWT as we work to secure a future for elephants.

Joined by our Patron and Executive Producer of the film, Kristin Davis, as well as Trustee Robert Carr-Hartley and UK Director of the DSWT, Rob Brandford, the audience were invited to ask questions following the film, which aims to inform, educate and inspire people around the globe to take action for elephants. Resulting in a lively debate covering all topics, from distribution of the film to the demand for ivory in the Far East, we were pleased to welcome a mixed bag of questions and such encouraging feedback for this compelling, evocative film.

We were excited to welcome our sponsors for the evening Williamson Tea who launched their new Mother and Child tea caddy to support the work of the DSWT. Williamson Tea donate £1 for each caddy sold to the DSWT in support of our conservation efforts.

Award-winning wildlife photographer Joachim Schmeisser joined us on the evening to showcase his stunning images of the orphaned elephants in our care. Joachim donates 100% of all proceeds of the images to the DSWT and is a long-standing friend and supporter of the Trust.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us on this inspirational evening to raise both vital funds and awareness for elephants and also our Patron, Kristin Davis who made this film possible.

Please keep checking our social media pages and website for more details on future film showings.
