During April, the DSWT’s Community Outreach program and dedicated team carried out eight school trips taking 200 children and 24 teachers into Tsavo West National Park, whilst also donating sports equipment to schools, and sponsoring an intensive beekeeping training program for the farm owners who are members of the Mtito Andei Community Human-Wildlife Conflict Resolution Group. This training was carried out over three days and encompassed hive management, honey harvesting, honey handling, bee identification, bee catching, record keeping and much more, arming them with the skills they need to be successful beekeepers.
