  1. A Quarterly Update from the DSWT/KWS Sky Vet Team - 11/3/2016

    During June to September 2016 the DSWT/KWS Sky Vet program was called to handle 16 emergency wildlife cases, several of which were supported by the DSWT helicopter or outsourced helicopters in the Mara and Meru regions to help with elephant darting operations as well as search and monitoring operations also using the DSWT’s fixed-wing aircrafts.   1. The Rescue of Wanjala - 11/1/2016

    A young elephant calf approximately 19 months old was first sighted near the Trust funded Dida Harea Windmill waterhole on the southern plains of Tsavo East National Park by the DSWT maintenance team who monitor the Trust funded windmills throughout Tsavo regularly. (read more)

  1. A THIRSTY LAND - Tsavo's Drought - 10/31/2016

    Tsavo has been in the grip of an extremely brutal dry season, as the April May rains all but failed this year, with the last meaningful rains falling in November December 2015. (read more)
