  1. August Aerial Report from the Tsavo Conservation Area - 9/9/2016

    August was a successful month for DSWT’s Aerial Unit.  With effective cooperation from ground teams, the Trust’s aircrafts were directly involved in the apprehension of 5 suspects, one a suspected poacher and the others found to be extracting natural resources from within Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park.   1. The Rescue of Jotto - 9/6/2016

    The 21st of March began as a particularly fraught day for us, beginning with the news that two orphaned elephants were in need of rescue at different ends of the country; one having fallen down a well in the Namunyak Conservancy in Northern Kenya, and the other possibly a victim of poaching in Tsavo East National Park found near a huge lone rock named “Sobo”, close to the Eastern boundary of the Park.   1. Lissa's sixth wild born calf Leo - 9/2/2016

    In 1988 a two-year-old orphaned female elephant calf was rescued near Mackinnon road and brought to be raised at Voi in Tsavo East by Daphne Sheldrick and her team, having been found alone in an emaciated condition with a misshapen back leg that had obviously been broken. (read more)

  1. The DSWT/KWS July Anti-Poaching Report - 8/30/2016

  1. Sky Vet successfully treats a snared elephant in Meru - 8/18/2016

    A sub-adult female elephant was first reported on the 19th of June 2016 having been sighted with a snare around its trunk by the DSWT/KWS Anti-Poaching Team based in Meru National Park. (read more)
