  1. The Rescue of Ololoo - 6/18/2011

    A young elephant calf was spotted alone in high grass on the opposite bank of the Mara river at the beginning of June 2011 by a Research student, Cecilie Willumsgaard based at the Karen Blixen Camp. (read more)

    Kenya once held some of the biggest lion populations in Africa, numbering over Twenty Thousand individuals in the early 1970s. (read more)

  1. Moving Murka, Naisula, and Kitirua to Ithumba - 5/19/2011

    Barely a week after moving Olare, Kibo and Kandecha to the Ithumba Rehabilitation Stockades on the 13th May, the l9th was another important day in the Nairobi Nursery for it was to be the day that miracle Murka, beautiful Naisula and her best friend Kitirua were off to join them. (read more)

  1. Friends for Life - 5/18/2011

    Enduring friendships within Elephant society, just as in human society, are common and  are always extremely touching, few more so than the enduring bond forged in early infancy between Orphaned Elephants Lesanju and Lempaute. (read more)
