  1. The Rescue of Galla - 6/9/2016

    The 21st March began as a particularly fraught day for us with the news that two orphaned elephants were in need of rescue at different ends of the country, one having fallen down a well in the Namunyak Conservancy in Northern Kenya (rescued separately), and the other most likely a victim of poaching in Tsavo East National Park near to the huge lone rock named “Sobo”, close to the Eastern boundary of the Park.   1. The Sad Loss of Kitenden - 6/4/2016

    On the 21st of May Angela received a call from the Amboseli Elephant Trust who had been alerted by a tour driver about a baby elephant abandoned, seemingly in trouble and walking in circles. (read more)

  1. Flying to the Rescue of a Snared Bull - 6/4/2016

    On the 20th May 2016 visitors sighted a bull with a severe cable snare injury to his leg when he happened to frequent a waterhole in the Northern Area of Tsavo. (read more)

  1. Mwashoti and Alamaya move to Umani Springs - 6/3/2016

    Two little elephants came into our care last year, literally ravaged, one from a poacher’s cable snare that almost severed his leg, and another victim of poaching who while alone, abandoned and vulnerable, was torn apart by hyenas, and was extremely lucky to be rescued in time. (read more)

  1. Launching the DSWT Tsavo Dog Unit - 6/1/2016

    In recent years the use of dogs in anti-poaching and law-enforcement has proved to be increasingly successful especially in the fight against ivory poaching in Africa. (read more)
