  1. Ndomot's rescuers visit him in the Nursery - 2/24/2005

    It was a special day when on the 21st of February 2005 the very same Samburu Warriors who rescued a tiny distraught elephant on 26th November 2003, wedged deep in a well dug by tribesmen in a dry Northern sand lugga, were able to spend two days with the now fat and boisterous Ndomot.   1. A visit from one of our 'Big Boys' Edo, Echo's nephew. - 1/10/2005

    The date was the 18th January 2005, and after an absence of 9 months, he suddenly appeared, in all his grandeur, this huge 16 year old Amboseli Bull who is one of our now fully independent “Big Boys”, a free spirit amongst his wild kin in Tsavo National Park doing what bull elephants of his age should be doing – travelling far and wide acting as the scouts for the cow herds, investigating new territory, finding new feeding grounds, and safe havens for those that will ensure the perpetuity of their kind, their females and the young.   1. The totally unexpected and mysterious sudden death of Jipe - 12/22/2004

    He was one of the most uncomplicated babies we had ever had to cope with, rescued from the mud of drying Lake Jipe on the 2nd October 2004, nearly three months ago, just a week or so old when found, trusting and loving from the start. (read more)
