  1. Shukuru settles into her new home in Kibwezi Forest - 7/30/2018

    Shukuru was moved to our Umani Springs Reintegration Unit on 16th June 2018 from our Nairobi Nursery, after having been brought back from our Ithumba Unit in order to convalesce and benefit from intensive medical attention. (read more)

  1. Anti-Poaching initiative in the Mau Forest reaps rewards for wildlife - 7/26/2018

    Earlier this year the DSWT partnered with the Mara Elephant Project (MEP) in the establishment of a new ranger force to patrol the Mau Forest, where poaching and other illegal activities, including logging, have been taking their toll on the flora and fauna in this critical area. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Mapia - 7/15/2018

    On the 2nd of November with conditions desperate in Tsavo East due to failed rains and the prolonged drought, a little calf was sighted by Kenya Wildlife Service rangers while out patrolling on foot. (read more)

    Mbegu, Ndotto, Lasayen, Murit, Godoma and Ngilai made their big move to our Voi Reintegration Unit well over a month ago and in that time we have seen them wholly embrace their new surroundings. (read more)
