  1. The Kibwezi Forest welcomes its first Elephant Orphans - 6/30/2014

    On June 24th Murera and Sonje made the long awaited journey to Umani Springs, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s brand new orphan relocation unit in the Kibwezi Forest. (read more)

  1. DSWT Anti-Poaching Report - May 2014 - 6/27/2014

    During May there was little rainfall throughout the Tsavo Conservation Area causing waterholes to diminish, and forcing wildlife to concentrate in smaller areas where some water still remains. (read more)

  1. Community Outreach - May 2014 - 6/26/2014

    During May 2014 the DSWT’s Community Outreach program hosted four school trips, four wildlife video shows and registered 100 school children with the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya (WCK). (read more)

    It has been a long road for the Marsh Pride lioness, Siena, who was gored by a buffalo on the 4th April 2014. (read more)

  1. PRICELESS AND LOST FOREVER - 6/16/2014

    This past month has seen an increased trend in poaching throughout Kenya. Working together with the Kenya Wildlife Service in the Tsavo Conservation Area as well as Amboseli, the Masai Mara and Northern Kenya, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's funded Veterinary Units have been hard at work trying to save some of these cases before they are lost forever.
