  1. Schools4Schools supports Misani Primary - 4/25/2014

    As part of the DSWT Community Outreach program’s new ‘Schools4Schools’ initiative, Misani Primary School, located in Makueni County, was chosen to be the recipient of educational activities and a host of school resources generously donated by Fifth Grade children from Viewpoint School in California, USA.   1. The rescue of Ziwa - 4/24/2014

    On the 8th January 2014 The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust rescued two orphaned elephants. The first was Losesia, a six month old female who had fallen down a man made well in Sera Conservancy, Northern Kenya, but very sadly died soon after her arrival her at the Nursery having ingested well water into her lungs.   1. March Report from the Anti-Poaching Units in Tsavo - 4/23/2014

    The month of March has seen a significant drop in the number of poaching incidences and illegal activities recorded within the Tsavo Conservation Area compared to the months of 2013. (read more)

  1. Update on Siena, the lioness treated by DSWT/KWS Mara Mobile Vet Team - 4/23/2014

    We feel that due to misreporting in regards to Siena’s unfortunate incident with the buffalo it is time that we put the record straight so that the global audience that has taken great interest in the case can understand the realities of the situation. (read more)

  1. Elephant Treatment - True Courage - 4/23/2014

    Early on the morning of Saturday 19th April, Angela Sheldrick was contacted by Benjamin, the head Keeper at Ithumba who had sighted an injured elephant while driving on his way to do an errand. (read more)
