  1. The death of Asanje - 2/3/2014

    An orphan from the Masai Mara, Asanje was 18 months old when she came to us on the 8th October 2013, as usual at that age emaciated and weak, having been without the milk of her elephant mother for some time. (read more)

  1. Sky Vets Emergency Veterinary Deployment - 2/3/2014

    Over the last three months the DSWT/KWS Sky Vets program has continued to deploy rapid veterinary intervention throughout Kenya for the treatment of injured wildlife, especially endangered and threatened species. (read more)

  1. Asanje's difficult journey - 1/27/2014

    Asanje, a beautiful elephant with a mild temperament has had a very difficult journey.  First was the trauma of loosing her mother, and then the mystery incident in the forest towards the end of October which almost cost her life and sight, and  the complications that have continued since then.   1. A Sad Ending and A Success Story - 1/24/2014

    On the 8th January 2014 The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust rescued two orphaned elephants. The first was Losesia, a 6 month old female that had fallen down a manmade well at Sera Conservancy in Northern Kenya and the second, a two year old bull from Amboseli National Park. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Asanje - 1/24/2014

    Reports of an orphaned baby were first received five days previously from the Masai community near the Masai Mara Game Reserve after she had been driven away by dogs. (read more)
