  1. Counting from the Sky; A Collaborative Kenya-Tanzania Aerial Wildlife Census - 10/18/2013

    During an intensive five day aerial census, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Chief Pilot, Nick Trent, joined forces with four other aircrafts and pilots from the Kenya Wildlife Service, Tanzanian Wildlife Parks, Maluganje Elephant Sanctuary and the Tsavo Trust to survey the greater Amboseli-West Kilimanjaro and Natron-Magadi ecosystems.   1. More orphaned elephants means more milk - 10/18/2013

    At the heart of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is the rearing and rehabilitation of the orphaned elephants and rhinos that come into the DSWT’s care. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Suswa - 10/15/2013

    On the 10th of September we received a call from Ibrahim Kantet from the Eseriani Wildlife Association regarding reports of an abandoned elephant in Masai Community lands beyond Mt. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Bongo - 10/12/2013

    On the 17th of September at 10.30pm at night our Meru Mobile Veterinary Unit arrived together with a Kenya Wildlife Service vehicle and rangers with a rescued elephant. (read more)

  1. The death of Empaash - 10/11/2013

    More tears as dawn arrived on the morning of the 8th October 2013, for we lost tiny one month old “Empaash” just after midnight, when he suddenly had difficulty breathing, and passed away. (read more)
