    Early morning on Sunday the 8th September Angela Sheldrick received a call from Batian Craig about a new born calf that had apparently walked into Kiparo Boma on Olpejita Conservancy in Laikipia. (read more)

  1. First International March for Elephants draws tens of thousands of marchers - 10/4/2013

    Thousands of people are today staging demonstrations at fifteen official cities around the world urging Governments to take action in protecting wild elephants from extinction due to the poaching crisis and trade in ivory. (read more)

  1. Report from the Meru Mobile Veterinary Unit - 10/3/2013

    The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Meru Mobile Veterinary Unit, which is funded and operated by the DSWT in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service, provides permanent veterinary support to the larger Meru ecosystem comprising of Meru National Park, Bisanadi National Park and Kora National Reserve, including all wildlife dispersal areas around the Eastern and Northern Conservation Areas

    Within this huge expanse the Meru Unit must travel large distances in order to respond to as many wildlife cases as possible and during the month of August this has certainly been the case, with the team, headed by KWS Field Veterinarian Dr. (read more)
