    There are few places in the world more unique than Kenya's giant Tsavo National Park, and while the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has projects throughout Kenya, the Tsavo Conservation Area is the Trust's main focus, which has been a life time commitment since 1948 to the present day.   1. Tsavo's Deadly Spike in Poison-Arrow Poaching - 8/12/2013

    Another young elephant in severe distress was reported on the 8th of August to the DSWT’s Headquarters at Kaluku in Tsavo East, by the staff of the Tsavo Safari Camp, which is located across the Athi River. (read more)

  1. The Rescue of Garzi - 8/12/2013

    On Saturday 6th July members of the community near Kaluku, the DSWT field HQs, reported to the  local DSWT anti-poaching foot patrol Unit  that they had seen a lone baby elephant on the eastern shore of the Athi River for the past few days, inside of Tsavo East National Park. (read more)

  1. Sobo’s sad passing - 8/10/2013 (RHINO UPDATE)

    The recent arrival of Sobo, a little rhino calf rescued  by KWS having been mauled badly by lions in Tsavo East National Park very sadly died on the morning of the 7th August. (read more)

    The past few days have been incredibly busy for all of the DSWT's three Orphans' Units, but none more so that the Voi Unit in Tsavo East National Park. (read more)
