  1. Saving a bull elephant in Tsavo - 8/3/2018

    Ten days ago KWS and DSWT came to the aid of a bull elephant that had two poison arrow wounds. This majestic creature was first spotted late in the evening on 22nd July by Taru Carr-Hartley, Daphne’s grandson, in the Northern Area of Tsavo. (read more)

  1. An Update on Enkikwe recovering from his lion attack - 7/31/2018

    Nearly six months have passed since Enkikwe was mauled by lions and very nearly killed, down on the Kalovoto River in Ithumba around 8. (read more)

  1. Shukuru settles into her new home in Kibwezi Forest - 7/30/2018

    Shukuru was moved to our Umani Springs Reintegration Unit on 16th June 2018 from our Nairobi Nursery, after having been brought back from our Ithumba Unit in order to convalesce and benefit from intensive medical attention. (read more)

  1. Anti-Poaching initiative in the Mau Forest reaps rewards for wildlife - 7/26/2018

    Earlier this year the DSWT partnered with the Mara Elephant Project (MEP) in the establishment of a new ranger force to patrol the Mau Forest, where poaching and other illegal activities, including logging, have been taking their toll on the flora and fauna in this critical area. (read more)
