  1. The rescue of Teleki - 9/11/2012

    On Saturday the 11th of September we received a call from the KWS Vet, Dr. Mathew Mutinda, with news about an abandoned elephant calf in the community lands abutting Mount Kenyas forests in the area of Judea. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Faraja - 8/25/2012

    The Nairobi Nursery received a report of an orphaned elephant calf at 2.30pm on the afternoon of Wednesday 21st August from Cynthia Moss in Amboseli. (read more)

  1. The Rescue of Nyika - 8/22/2012

    Nyika is estimated to be approximately 10 months old, a lone male calf whose rescue story almost duplicates that of Bomani and Panda. (read more)

  1. Yao Ming and the Orphans - 8/21/2012

    Yao Ming, the former NBA Basketball star and giant sporting icon in China has been on a mission in Kenya documenting the threats faced by the African elephant and rhino on an in-depth campaign organised by WildAid and Save the Elephants, to end the illegal trade in ivory and rhino horn.   1. Graduating to Ithumba; Makireti, Ishanga and Kasigau - 8/18/2012

    With the Nairobi Nursery almost bursting at the seams from the influx of new orphaned baby elephants rescued in the last couple of months, the decision was made to transfer three of the older Nursery orphans to the Ithumba stockades in Tsavo East National Park. (read more)
