  1. The Rescue of Dabassa - 8/13/2011

    On the 8th of August the Galana Ranch staff first noticed a young elephant calf amongst a herd of adult bulls, and as this is not normal they decided to monitor the calf closely over the coming days. (read more)

  1. Kalama, Chemi Chemi, and Ololoo move to Ithumba - 8/6/2011

    In June an orphan well over two years old, rescued from the Masaai Mara came into our care, we named him Ololoo. (read more)

  1. Kristin Davis returns to Kenya and the orphans project - 7/30/2011

  1. KENYA’S PRESIDENT BURNS NEARLY 5 TONNES OF IVORY - 7/21/2011

    On 20th July 2011 Kenyas President Mwai Kibaki set on fire nearly 5 tonnes of elephant ivory, with an estimated value of USD$16m. (read more)

  1. KIBWEZI FOREST, UMANI SPRINGS - 7/10/2011

    The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has identified important habitats to help protect and preserve, and has recently embarked on a partnership with the Kenya Forest Service having secured a concession of the Kibwezi Ground Water Forest. (read more)
