  1. Moving Murka, Naisula, and Kitirua to Ithumba - 5/19/2011

    Barely a week after moving Olare, Kibo and Kandecha to the Ithumba Rehabilitation Stockades on the 13th May, the l9th was another important day in the Nairobi Nursery for it was to be the day that miracle Murka, beautiful Naisula and her best friend Kitirua were off to join them. (read more)

  1. Friends for Life - 5/18/2011

    Enduring friendships within Elephant society, just as in human society, are common and  are always extremely touching, few more so than the enduring bond forged in early infancy between Orphaned Elephants Lesanju and Lempaute. (read more)

  1. Kandecha's Story - 5/16/2011

    He is back home – in the Tsavo East National Park where he was born,  an orphan stabilized both psychologically and physically in the Nairobi Nursery over the past year and now whole again and ready to embark on the next important phase of life’s journey that will ultimately re-established him and his peers again amongst the wild elephant community of Tsavo.   1. Moving Olare, Kandecha and Kibo to Ithumba - 5/14/2011

    Another important day in the Nairobi Orphaned Elephant Nursery was the 13th May 2011, for this was graduation day for three more Nursery elephants -  Olare, Kibo and Kandecha who were due to be upgraded to the Ithumba Rehabilitation Centre in Northern Tsavo East National Park. (read more)
