  1. The Threat of Snares and Poisoned Arrows - 8/2/2013

    A particularly cruel death for an animal is as a result of poison carefully coated on an arrow head which detaches from the shaft on impact and travels into the body. (read more)

  1. Duruma; A Mysterious Tragedy - 7/30/2013

    A case was reported to the Tsavo Mobile Veterinary Unit of an injured baby elephant still with its mother on Taita Ranch abutting Tsavo. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Mbirikani - 7/23/2013

    On the 29th June the Big Life team in the Chyulu area were alerted about a calf with a cable snare on the foot, unable to walk properly and clearly in distress. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Arruba - 7/13/2013

    On Tuesday 28th May 2013 a young female elephant calf was sighted by a Kenyan Wildlife Service maintenance team who were erecting a new electric fence within the vicinity of Aruba Dam in Tsavo East National Park. (read more)
