The Burra Team operates in the southern sector of Tsavo East National Park, as well as the surrounding community areas and ranches.

Cases of human-wildlife conflict are common near Voi, where roaming elephant stray into neighbouring community farms and have to be driven back into the safety of the National Park. Bushmeat poaching, livestock encroachment and ivory poaching are among the illegal activities encountered by the team.
