SWT/KWS Burra De-Snaring Team Report for October 2019

Published on the 15th of November, 2019

The Burra Team operates in the southern sector of Tsavo East National Park, as well as the surrounding community areas and ranches.

Cases of human-wildlife conflict are common near Voi, where roaming elephant stray into neighbouring community farms and have to be driven back into the safety of the National Park. Bushmeat poaching, livestock encroachment and ivory poaching are among the illegal activities encountered by the team.

The report below provides an overview of the activity of all our De-Snaring Teams in October 2019, with a more detailed description of the Burra Team's operational activities in the period.
