Published on the 15th of October, 2022

The Mtito Team operates in the northern sector of Tsavo West National Park.

Terrain in this operational area is varied, with tall rocky hills, open grass plains, rugged valleys and many water courses. Illegal activities encountered here include snaring for the bushmeat trade, ivory poaching, livestock encroachment and cutting of trees for timber and to make charcoal. This report provides an overview of the activity of all our SWT/KWS Anti-Poaching Teams in September 2022, with a more detailed description of the Mtito Team's operational activities in the period.
