35 SNARES COLLECTED

Findings

The Team was on leave for two weeks during the month of February. We were however able to patrol a portion of the privately owned farms and other areas where we suspected we may find snares. A total of 35 snares were lifted, of which 26 targeted small game.

During our patrols at Kilalinda we were able to lift 17 small snares from near the Kilalinda Sasoon boundary and near the community areas. We also patrolled the Mtito River upstream from Rock camp where we lifted 5 large snares which looked old. Sadly a buffalo had been caught in one of the snares and died. We also managed to lift 4 medium sized snares and 9 small snares.
