    On the 29th of November we got a phone call from the Senior Warden of South Turkana Game Reserve about an elephant orphan found in the Orwa area near the Reserve boundary. (read more)

    This tiny newborn male calf was orphaned during the morning of 20th November, 2011, apparently left by his mother when she and her herd were chased out of an area of human settlement near the Ruiri outpost in the lower Imenti Forest. (read more)

  1. The Mara Vet Unit treats a Lioness with an arrow wound - 11/21/2011

    In late November a distress call from Olare Orok Conservancy manager reached the Mara vet unit on a Sunday morning about a lioness spotted by a patrol unit with a arrow head lodged on its front left leg. (read more)
