  1. The Rescue of Nelion - 9/13/2013

    A lone elephant calf was first spotted by the Kenya Wildlife Service within the Mount Kenya National Park during one of their daily patrols on Friday 2nd August. (read more)

  1. The Tsavo Mobile Veterinary Unit on the Frontline of Poaching - 9/5/2013

    The operations of the DSWT/KWS Mobile Veterinary Units and the new SkyVet initiative have never been as vital as they are now during a time when the life of every elephant and rhino in this country is severely threatened as both species fight to survive the brutal illegal ivory and rhino horn trade.   1. A Poaching Scare at Ithumba - 9/5/2013

    As the dry season tightened its grip over Tsavo and rain filled waterholes dried out, yet again the wild elephants and our own ex-orphans began drinking on a daily basis at both the mudbath water trough and the one at the Ithumba Stockades. (read more)

  1. Dame Daphne visits Amu Ranch in Lamu - 9/4/2013

    During the months of July and August I have, together with my daughter Angela Sheldrick and her husband Robert and their sons, been able to spend time between all our field projects down in Tsavo. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Mudanda - 9/4/2013

    This female calf was first sighted by the Trust Pilot on the 3rd August 2013 whilst flying over the Mudanda area of Tsavo East National Park on a routine aerial recce mission. (read more)
