  1. Maxwell's Escapade - 2/19/2014

    On the 17th of February we woke to a surprise, finding Maxwell was not in his Boma.  Following the footprints in the wet mud, it was clear that the fastening bolt to one of the doors had come undone due to Maxwell sharpening his horn on it, and he had found himself outside. (read more)

  1. Tsavo Ecosystem Elephant Count 5th - 10th Feb 2014 - 2/15/2014

    The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s four aerial surveillance aircraft returned from a four and a half day intensive wildlife aerial count over the Tsavo ecosystem, covering a huge expanse of country that comprises the Tsavo elephants’ range - 48,656 sq. (read more)

  1. Northern Icon Survives Again - 2/13/2014

    On the morning of Monday February 3rd 2014 one of the Tsavo Northern Area’s famous bull elephants showed up at the mud-bath where the orphans and ex-orphans congregate each morning. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Ashaka - 2/12/2014

    Our Voi Elephant Keeper team received a call from the Kenya Wildlife Service Manyani Ranger Training Academy bordering Tsavo East National Park on the 3rd of November about the plight of a tiny elephant calf. (read more)
