    This year has proved the most challenging of them all for us at The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, with numerous orphaned elephants coming in due to drought, the exacerbated human wildlife conflict as a result, and the ever increasing poaching threat. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Enasoit - 8/13/2009

    Yet another elephant orphan rescued in the month of August.  A lone bull elephant calf, roughly 18 months of age, was observed for about 5 days by the staff at Enasoit Ranch in Laikipia, who were hopeful that his mother might appear to repossess him. (read more)
