  1. A busy month for the Aerial Surveillance Unit - 3/21/2014

    February was an exceedingly demanding month for the Aerial Surveillance Unit, seeing the Trust's four aricraft taking part in the Tsavo-Mkomazi aerial census of elephant and wildlife, whilst continuing patrols over the Tsavo Conservation Area and responding to any emergency reports in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service.   1. A Report from the Mobile Veterinary Units - 3/21/2014

    All of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's three mobile veterinary units were active during the month of February in saving the lives of many wild animals. (read more)

  1. News from Project Amu - 3/20/2014

    With the recent success of receiving the management rights from the Kenya Forest Service to protect the Witu Forest Reserve which lies within the greater Lamu conservation area adjoining Amu Ranch, the DSWT is proud to be part of a greater community movement to protect and preserve the natural integrity of Lamu County.   1. Schools 4 Schools - 3/19/2014

    The DSWT is excited to introduce the new Schools 4 Schools’ program, which has been established to embrace the energy of schools worldwide so as to harness support for underprivileged and undereducated children who live along the borders of Kenya’s National Parks and protected areas within the Tsavo Conservation Area.   1. Orphan Mbirikani Saved From Almost Certain Disaster - 3/18/2014

    On March 12th 2014, Angela Sheldrick was contacted by a distraught Joseph Sauni, the Voi Unit's Head Keeper, with news that Mbirikani had been snatched overnight by the Trust's Voi ex-orphans and wild herds, and that the Keepers had not managed to locate her by 11. (read more)
