  1. Orphan Mbirikani Saved From Almost Certain Disaster - 3/18/2014

    On March 12th 2014, Angela Sheldrick was contacted by a distraught Joseph Sauni, the Voi Unit's Head Keeper, with news that Mbirikani had been snatched overnight by the Trust's Voi ex-orphans and wild herds, and that the Keepers had not managed to locate her by 11. (read more)

  1. Supporting the Mwalunganje and the Shimba Hills Elephants - 3/18/2014

    Whilst the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust focuses efforts on providing protection for elephant populations throughout the Tsavo Conservation Area (TCA), there are many additional key elephant habitats and migratory corridors which are under threat from human encroachment, habitat destruction and poaching.   1. Elephant Chalk Art at the Nairobi Nursery - 3/18/2014

    The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was honored to be visited by French artist Philippe Baudelocque on the 18th of March, who is best known for his street chalk art. (read more)

  1. Fighting Community Blindness in Tsavo - 3/17/2014

    As part of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Community Outreach program the Trust dedicates time, support and resources to the marginalised communities living on the borders of the National Parks and Protected Area within the greater Tsavo Conservation Area. (read more)
