Emergency Treatment of an Arrowed Bull in Tsavo

Published on the 22nd of January, 2026

Follow along on an emergency elephant treatment — this time, a big bull with a paralysing arrow wound on his front leg.

Between our eyes in the skies and SWT/KWS Tsavo Vet Unit on the ground, he is on the road to recovery.

We have an important update to his story: Roan has been monitoring the bull’s progress from the air, and today it was deemed time for a re-treatment. While he still has a long way to go, the wound is starting to heal and this morning’s operation should take him several steps further. We will continue to look out for him in case a third intervention is needed.
