In their first-ever safari off Sesame Street, Elmo and friends travelled all the way to Nairobi to meet Elmo's adopted elephant and the rest of our Nursery herd. Tune in to Sesame Street and the Great Elephant Adventure on PBS, Wednesday 14 October at 8/7c.
Sesame Street first aired in 1969, just a few years before the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was established. For more than five decades, the beloved television series has been a guiding light for generations, all from one familiar street. It was an honour to host Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Nina on their once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa. We hope you enjoy watching the episode as much as we enjoyed creating it. (And no one loved it more than the elephants — they were absolutely enchanted by their new Muppet friends!)
Thank you to Nature, Sesame Workshop, and PBS for bringing this extraordinary experience to life. We feel sure it will spark curiosity in young viewers and inspire families to explore the natural world together.
