We are excited to share the news that Dame Daphne Sheldrick has been invited to give a talk at the American Natural History Museum (AMNH) in New York on May 8th 2012.

The talk will mark the U.S. publication of Dame Daphnes long awaited autobiography Love, Life, and Elephants An African Love Story, published in the U.S. by Farrar, Straus & Giroux. The book was first released in hardback on March 1st in the UK, published by Penguin/Viking as An African Love Story Love, Life, and Elephants. Where only 6 weeks after publication it is already in its 4th edition, having been received so positively by literary critics, conservationists and, of course, supporters of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which Daphne founded in 1977, in memory of her late husband David Sheldrick MBE.

Daphne Sheldricks absorbing, moving memoir is a tale of two loves. One was David, her second husband, legendary head warden of Tsavo, Kenyas biggest national park. The other was Tsavo itself, renowned for its lions, elephants, rhinos.. BBC Wildlife Magazine
