    We, who struggle so long and hard in order to rear orphaned newborn elephant babies, and in the process shed gallons of tears and stress over every disappointment and failure observe with wonder and heartfelt joy the progress of Emily’s first newborn baby, “Eve” under natural conditions.   1. The return of circus elephants to the UK! - 3/4/2009

    On Friday 27 February, the Great British Circus began its 2009 season in Nottingham, England, and this year has seen them include three elephants in their act. (read more)

  1. The rescue of Kibo - 3/4/2009

    Mt. Kilimanjaro, towering over the Masai Amboseli ecosystem from on the Tanzanian side of the border, used to be in Kenya, but was given to the German Kaiser by Queen Victoria in the l800’s when what is now independent Tanzania was German East Africa was known as Tanganyika! Kenyans feel pretty sore about this now!

  1. Loimugie, Muti, and Milgis - 2/28/2009

    Loimugie:  This l0 month old calf was first seen on the l0th February around the Wells that serve the pastoral community of Namunyak Conservancy but the Scouts were unable to catch up with him in order to bring him to safety. (read more)

    seabirds and dolphins are vanishing, and the great mammals such as
    India's tigers and Africa's rhinoceroses and elephants are falling to
