Published on the 15th of June, 2026

The Unit attended to 14 cases during the month of May and noted a significant reduction in poaching and Human Wildlife Conflict related cases.

Two buffalos and one zebra were treated for snare wounds, one elephant was treated for an arrow wound and a postmortem was conducted on a lion where human involvement was suspected. The remaining cases were natural in nature. The Unit also conducted extensive research in the Ruko Conservancy after there were reports of sickly giraffes and a possible disease outbreak.
